Museum Reopens to the Public – Press Release

THE MUSEUM OF MEDITERRANEAN MASKS OF MAMOIADA REOPENS TO THE PUBLIC

The civic Museum of Mediterranean Masks reopens with a new museographic and multimedia
exhibition!

Our fellow citizens are invited on October 30, 2024 for the cutting of the ribbon at 11:00. For the general
public, in fervent expectation, the Museum reopens from October 31 at the usual times (from 10:00 to
18:00, every day except Tuesday).

You will find new and wider exhibition spaces, costumes and masks, historical and contemporary
videos, new educational and informative content, spaces equipped for teaching in schools, a larger and
modern multi-vision room, a restoration workshop, many cultural projects and qualified staff to share
experiences and knowledge.

The Museum has therefore renewed its offer of museums and cultural services, aligning itself with the
most renowned standards and the quality of the most modern European museums.
We are just at the beginning of a more challenging and ambitious work that includes, the
redevelopment of the outdoor spaces and the establishment of a scientific committee to coordinate a
research and study centre that guarantees an active dialogue and support for the redevelopment and
increase of museum collections.

2025 promises to be rich in cultural events and collaboration initiatives with Italian and European
museums, the academic world, cultural and social associations, tourism operators and production
entities representative of the excellence of the territory.

The collaboration between the Public Administration of Mamoiada and the concessionaire of museum
services Promakos, aims at further ambitious goals. The redevelopment of the Museum is the first step
towards repositioning the cultural offer of Mamoiada, whose primary objective is to attract a tourism
sensitive to quality and motivated by permanence, but also to renew public interest, already fond of,
with a tight calendar of events and initiatives.

The Municipality of Mamoiada thanks the Region of Sardinia, the BIM Taloro Consortium, the GAL
Barbagia, the concessionaire of museum services Promakos Consortium, the Management and Staff of
the Museum, the design studio Nature and History, the Companies, the Professionals, and finally all the
Fellow Citizens who, in various capacities, have offered contributions, donations and loans.

The civic museum of Mediterranean masks in Mamoiada is a good of All, at the service of All.
